My story was just picked up by Autoblog this morning — Thanks Chris Shunk! We are finally getting the traction this issue deserves. Go Freya’s Army! If you are not yet, follow me on Twitter.com/RusmackedVolvo and connect to me on Facebook/Freya Svensson and Freya’s Channel on YouTube.
Freya, I just saw your story on Autoblog. I love Volvos. My family has owned many over the years. But I am quite concerned about their quality and they seem to be getting worse. What’s worse is that Ford may be selling Volvo to Geely in China which will inevitably spell the end of Volvo as we have known it. I support your cause, but I also think something similar should be done by Volvo lovers to tell Ford not to sell Volvo to the Chinese! It should be sold to owners who will care about Volvo’s rich history and restore the company to respectability.
I recently bought a used 1992 Volvo 240. My parents had a 240 when I was a child and driving one again reminded me of how great Volvos used to be. It is so solid and has a certain character that Volvos just don’t have anymore. I would be very hesitant to buy a new one. Let’s get the message out and SAVE VOLVO!!! Your story needs to be told and I’m glad you are doing whatever it takes to let your voice be heard.
I just wanted to chime in that Rusnak Volvo has a reputation for such horrible service. When I saw your issue posted on Autoblog it brought back such horrible memories.
Much of the customers of the “good” Rusnak Volvo moved to Bozanni in West Covina… however, it seems their honesty and lack of cheating customers left them unable to stay in business. Sucks for the customers of the LA area. The crooks live another day to cheat more honest customers of their hard earned money.
I hope your situation gets resolved, and your actions lead to a better Volvo dealership in the Pasadena area.
As for their current CSRs and their Management… They need to be replaced.
